Thanks to funding from Cumbria Community Foundation, we are pleased to launch our Spring of micro action around Windermere.Â
Got two minutes to spare? You can make a difference!Â
We’ve designed a series of litter picks to join, whether you have 2 minutes or 2 hours to spare, you can help.Â
Choose from a litter pick day below, simply drop in any time to pick up a map and start picking!Â
- Grasmere Village Hall, Saturday 23rd March, 10 am – 2pmÂ
- Ambleside Parish Centre (The Brathay Room), Thursday 4th April, 10am – 2pmÂ
- Windermere Science Festival, Windermere Jetty Museum, 11th and 12th May 2024Â
Wear suitable clothing and footwear, and we will provide gloves and high-vis jackets. This activity is suitable for children if they take part with their grown ups. Refreshments and hand-washing facilities will be provided.Â
We will be sorting and weighing all the litter found on the day. This is really important as it helps us to identify the source of the problem and stop litter entering our lake in the first place. Â
Based on what we find we will design a campaign to raise awareness and prevent more litter. Look out for us at the Windermere Science Festival to find out more! Â
Want to host a litter pick in your business, school or community group? Or just host a litter pick kit? We can help. Get in touch: [email protected]Â
Want to do more than just pick litter? Volunteer to help run the events.Â
