Current Vacancy: Administration Officer

Job Title: Administration Officer

Responsible to: Operations Manager

Salary: £18,746 pro rata

Hours: 18.5 hrs Flexible working options may be available. Occasional evening work to support meetings.

Contract: Permanent

Location: Murley Moss, Kendal with occasional travel across the Lake District National Park

About the Lake District Foundation

The Lake District Foundation was established as a charity in August 2017.

We will inspire businesses, visitors and other donors to support projects and programmes of work across the Lake District.

We are ambitious for our new charity and want to work with individuals who share our vision and have a sense of what is possible.

Main Role Purpose

To provide flexible and professional general administrative support.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide full secretariat for the board of trustees.
  • Offer PA support to the Director and where needed the Operations manager.
  • Administer regular updates to our partners including producing e newsletters and other communications.
  • Support delivery of events, administering booking processes and other activities as required.
  • Support the smooth running of the office and of the organisation.
  • Update and maintain the customer database.

Person Specification

Essential Experience/Skills

  • Educated to A level or equivalent, with a good pass in Maths and English at GCSE level.
  • High level of computer competency including CMS and all aspects of Microsoft Office
  • Strong writing, language and proof-reading skills
  • Committed to the values, ethos and purpose of the Lake District Foundation
  • Ability to work flexibly and at pace

Desirable Experience/Skills

  • Experience and/or knowledge of social media and other marketing channels
  • Event planning/project management skills
  • Book keeping or financial administration experience

Personal and Professional Qualities

  • Organised and methodical with ability to multi-task across several projects
  • Clear and courteous communicator
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing demands and new challenges
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a small team
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Good time management and self-starter

We are looking for talented individuals to work with us on specific fundraising campaigns and to help us develop our marketing and communications plans. This might be on a freelance basis, a secondment or as a member of our staff team.
