Brian and Carol were a kind, friendly couple, who made many lifelong friends in Keswick. The Fingerpost at Lodore Woods is just a short distance from Dad’s favourite picnic spot. Anthony Valentine
Anthony loved the Lakes. As a child brought up in Lancashire he first came with his parents William and Mary. At seventeen he was a member of the Outward Bound School in Ullswater. Throughout his working life as one of our finest actors, he regularly trundled over many a fell, with a Mars bar and a compass, and appreciated the peace and objectivity the “lumps” gave him. He would have been so thrilled to know that he was helping to preserve this magical place by sponsoring the footbridge at Sty Head Gill. Remembering with so much love my dear husband and friend.

Leo loved the mountains. They brought him contentment, peace and friendship throughout his life, so dedicating this gate to his memory could not be more fitting. His family and friends will remember him with great happiness whenever they visit this beautiful spot near Loughrigg Tarn.

For Dave, a wonderful husband, dad and grandad. He loved walking the fells with his border collie, Gwynne and marvelled at the beauty of the Lakes. He was head teacher at Lorton village school for many years so it is fitting that this memorial is in Buttermere which was part of his catchment area. He died in June 2016 after a brave and dignified battle against cancer.

Also for our dogs, Rooney, Dylan, Vasco and Rufus who love(d) High Dam even more than he did. Tony was the dearest friend, helper and mentor to family, friends and community.
