About the Fund

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The Lake District and other National Parks should be for everyone. But we know, it doesn’t always feel that way.  

We want to help make positive changes. This starts by listening to and trying to understand the barriers that prevent people from fully enjoying the Lake District.    

We’re looking for 5 community or sports groups who are underrepresented in the outdoors industry, and in the Lake District.  

You’re invited to visit the National Park and enjoy everything it has to offer. But with a critical eye, we’d like you to share your experience and how it could be improved. What is the region doing well and what is it getting wrong, when it comes to making sure everyone feels welcome here?  

Tell us and show us, in whatever way works for you: photos, vlogs, words: you decide. 

In return for sharing your thoughts, we’re offering 5 grants of £2000 each.  

Grants can cover the cost of travel, accommodation, activities and even equipment, if that’s what is needed.

Criteria 

Groups must be led by, and be primarily for, people currently underrepresented in the outdoors industry. This might include: 

• Low-income groups who live within a 30-mile radius of the National Park, 
• Community groups and clubs for global majority / folks who have been racialised as ‘ethnic minorities’, 
• LGBTQIA outdoors groups, 
• Outdoors groups led by D/deaf and disabled people.
