Great North Swim campaign raises funds for the Lake District Foundation
Swimmers taking part in this year’s Coventry Building Society Great North Swim have the chance to make their swim go even further for the Lake District.
Through the new Beat Your Time. Help the Lakes. campaign, Coventry Building Society will donate £5 to the Lake District Foundation for every swimmer who beats their predicted finish time during the event.
Taking place on Windermere, the Great North Swim brings thousands of people together to enjoy one of the Lake District’s most iconic waters. This year, every personal best could also help support the landscapes, wildlife and communities that make the Lake District so special.
The campaign is simple. Swimmers predict their finish time before taking part. If they beat that time on event day, Coventry Building Society will donate £5 to the Lake District Foundation.
Funds raised will support our work across the Lake District, helping to care for this unique place through projects that protect nature, improve access, support conservation and keep the landscape thriving for everyone.
The Lake District Foundation will also be at the start line on Sunday, cheering swimmers on and celebrating everyone taking part.
Anya Kuliszewski, from the Lake District Foundation, said:
“Taking on the Great North Swim is already a brilliant personal challenge, but this campaign means swimmers can make their achievement go even further. Every person who beats their predicted time will be helping to support projects that care for the Lake District’s landscapes, water, wildlife and communities. We’re really grateful to Coventry Building Society for choosing to support the Lake District Foundation in such a fun and motivating way.”
Whether you are swimming for a personal best, taking on a new challenge or simply enjoying the atmosphere on Windermere, this is a brilliant way to give something back to the place hosting the event.
Good luck to everyone taking part. We’ll be cheering you on.
