Fells and Flow Festival: Adventure, Connection and Inspiration on the Lake
On Friday 13 September, our first Fells and Flow Festival brought together adventurers, storytellers and businesses to celebrate everything that makes the Lake District so special.
Hosted at Another Place, The Lake, and supported by Land Rover Discovery, the festival was built on strong business partnerships and the generosity of local organisations who gave their time and expertise to create a truly memorable day.
Immersed in nature
Festival-goers took part in a programme designed to connect people with the landscape in new and exciting ways. Guided island swims with Swim the Lakes gave participants a fresh perspective of Ullswater, while lakeside saunas offered the perfect place to recharge and reflect.
Voices of adventure
The highlight of the day was a series of talks from the Lake District Foundation’s ambassador team. Fell Foodie, known for his creative outdoor cooking, shared his passion for bringing people together over food in wild places. Kate Rawles, adventure cyclist and author, spoke about how meaningful journeys in nature can inspire action to protect our planet. Their energy and stories captured the spirit of the festival – celebrating adventure while deepening our connection with the natural world.
Powered by partnership
The festival would not have been possible without the incredible support of local businesses who volunteered time, skills and energy to bring the event to life. Their commitment highlights the strong sense of community in the Lakes and the shared belief that business can be a powerful force for good.
Looking ahead
The Fells and Flow Festival was more than a single day of activities – it was a celebration of partnership, place and purpose. By bringing together people who love the Lake District, the festival created an inspiring platform for wellbeing, sustainability and connection. A huge thank you to Another Place, Land Rover Discovery and the many local businesses who supported us. We showed what can be achieved when community, creativity and care for the environment come together.
